This helicopter when registered in West Germany by the Bundesminister des Innern (BMI) as D-HATE from October 1970 and operated by the Bundesgrenzschutzfliegerstaffel Mitte out of Fuldatal by Kassel.
On June 7, 1972, this aircraft was also used to transport RAF terrorists like Gudrun Enzlin out of Hamburg after her arrest.
Then operated by the Bundesgrenzschutzfliegerstaffel Ost out of Berlin Tempelhof (EDDI) from 1993.
She made her last landing on December 30, 1999, with a Total Time Since New (TTSN) of 6015hrs.
Canceled as SOC and PWFU since January 25, 2001.
This has been preserved as donated and owned by the Luftwaffen Museum der Bundeswehr in Berlin Gatow ever from January 2001.
This museum had a change of name to the Militaer Historisches Museum (MHM) Berlin Gatow since October 1, 2011. Stored in the restoration area on April 27, 2017.
Restoration work was done, and this helicopter was placed inside Hangar 7, as noted in 2024.
