This helicopter when reg. to the Royal Air Force as XV723 was in service with the 72Sqd in Northern Ireland when it suffered tail rotor failure on 20.03.2001 at Bassbrook in Co. Armagh and crash landed.
The aircraft was returned to the UK on 06.04.2001 and was noted at RAF Shawbury on 25.05.2001. Active again -03.2002.
The helicopter when reg. to the RAF as XV723 was WFU and stored at RAF Shawbury on 27.03.2002. Reported to be for sale to Uruguay. The helicopter was del to Marchwood by air on 20.06.2002 for onward shipment to Uruguay.
Noted in Uruguay in the Montevideo harbour om 09.08.2002 as 077.
