Detailed information, history and photos

Serial Number13475
Civil reg.OE-XSY
Mil. reg.(XG544)

This helicopter was re regd. in West Germany to private Karl M?ller as D-HALD (1) from 1987 and flown from Mellinghausen to the airport of Altenrhein in Switzerland during 1988. Cancelled in West Germany by 1989.

This was then regd. in Switzerland to Peter Schmid as HB-RXB with Mode-S Hex: 4B2F3B since 06.08.1991.

Stored and put on static display with the Fliegermuseum at Altenrhein in Switzerland as borrowed from its private owner Peter Schmid till the 30th of September 2010. It is then stored inside a hangar at Altenrhein as offered for sale in November 2010. Cancelled in CH since 18.08.2011.

Sold since November 2010 and stored with Red Bull at Salzburg in Austria. Regd. in Austria to The Flying Bulls GmbH & Co KG as OE-XSY since May 2012.

An expensive test at the Technical University of Graz was carried out. The result of its rating was ?like new?! After the refurbishment of its engine, the Flying Bulls have conducted their first engine runs on the ground during the 12th of February 2013.

All that remained was to learn the flight characteristics. The problem with this issue was that there are no longer any pilots capable of flying and who have a valid licence for the Sycamore. As a result, Europe?s most experienced helicopter pilot Siegfried Schwarz alias Blacky faces a task he could never have dreamed of: prior to the major overhaul, Blacky will have to teach himself the Sycamore?s flight characteristics. It?s said they are a law unto themselves. The helicopter with a rotor disc diameter of 14.80 m is certainly not considered an easy helo to fly. But who better to accomplish this feat if not the newly-crowned world champion in freestyle helicopter flying? via. Red Bull

It than made a 15 minutes hovering test flight on the 2nd of July 2013.
