The Bückeburg Helicopter Museum receives a new exhibit.

After years in service, this CH-53G will become part of the instructional collection of the Army Aviation Corps. At the Helicopter Museum Bückeburg, it will, in the future, complement nine other decommissioned helicopters that are preserved there as static exhibits.

As a permanent loan, it represents the history and development of German military helicopter aviation.

Since August 2024, technicians from Helicopter Wing 64 (HSG 64) in Diepholz, together with the training workshop under the direction of Harald Habben, have been reassembling the aircraft. Components removed for road transport, such as rotor blades and the tail boom, are being reinstalled on site.

Upon completion of the work, the CH-53G will be installed above the entrance area of the new museum building and will welcome visitors as a striking symbol of one of Germany’s best-known transport helicopters.

A sincere thank you goes to all soldiers and civilian staff who contributed to this project. Through their commitment, expertise, and outstanding work, the aircraft is now presented in excellent condition.
